SAN BENITO HEMP
  • What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural compound that comes from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of industrial hemp. It is the most widely accepted non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in industrial hemp. All of our San Benito Absolute-Spectrum CBD products contain CBD extracted from industrial hemp.
  • Will I get ‘High’ from Using CBD?
Because CBD is a non-intoxicating component from industrial hemp, which legally must have less than 0.3 percent of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), there’s no “high” or euphoric effect as a result of using hemp-derived CBD.
  • How long does it take to feel the effects of CBD?
Properties of CBD will vary for each individual depending on height, weight, and the quantity of CBD taken. Because there are no intoxicating ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect; start with small amounts and gradually increase with each use until reaching desired results.
  • Do I need a medical marijuana card or doctor’s prescription to use San Benito products?
Our products contain hemp-based CBD, which is federally legal to be purchased anywhere in the U.S. without a marijuana card or doctor's prescription. Please check your local laws to verify that CBD is legal in your state.
  • Will using CBD oil show up on a drug test?
While hemp-based CBD products are manufactured from hemp plants containing less than 0.3% THC, there are still trace amounts. There is a small percentage that consuming CBD may lead to a positive drug test for THC, as it does with any product made from hemp. If this is a significant concern, we advise speaking with your employer or doctor before use.
  • What’s the proper way to store CBD products?
Store products in a dry, cool area with no direct exposure to constant light or excessive heat.
  • Why does your product have a prop 65 warning label?
San Benito has always adhered to the highest standards of quality assurance and continues to make regulatory compliance our top priority in order to ensure our customers can confidently trust our products. Because of that, we wanted to let you know that in order to comply with the addition of ∆9-THC to California’s Proposition 65 list, we recently added this new Proposition 65 statement to our product labels: WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm See: www.P65Warnings.ca.gov. If you see the Prop 65 warning on our labels, you might be wondering if the San Benito product you purchased is safe. The short answer is yes, our products are safe. And prior to being required by law to add this statement to our label, we’ve included a similar statement on our labels to comply with regulations: Do not use if pregnant, nursing or under 18 years of age. Consult your healthcare provider if you are using any prescription medications or have a medical condition. Discontinue use if unusual symptoms occur. The Proposition 65 warning is required by the state of California to warn consumers about exposure to ingredients that may cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm, and in some cases, regardless of the level of those ingredients in products. While the presence of a Prop 65 warning does not mean that a product is unsafe for its intended use, the law requires that we warn consumers about the potential for risk. Since the introduction of Prop 65 label warnings, it has caused a fair amount of confusion, fear, and concern. This new label may raise alarm about the safety and quality of our products, but please be assured that nothing about our ingredient sourcing or manufacturing process has changed. You can learn more about Prop 65 warnings by visiting their website. If you have any questions about these new requirements, please contact us.

  • What is the endocannabinoid system?
In every aspect of day-to-day life—from the amount of sleep we get to the food we eat—balance is crucial if we wish to achieve optimal results and gain longevity. In the human body, this “inner balance” is called homeostasis. Homeostasis is maintained when several systems within our bodies work together harmoniously, such as the endocannabinoid system. Homeostasis: Homeostasis depends on ENDOCANNABINOIDS being properly activated and maintained by the ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM (ECS). The ECS and its receptors are present throughout the body, functioning as a central regulatory system that helps establish and maintain health. When homeostasis is not maintained, endocannabinoid receptors are waiting to be activated to begin assisting the body to return to its natural balance. Researchers have identified two endocannabinoid receptors, the CB1, and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are found primarily in the brain and spinal cord or central nervous system. CB2 receptors are found primarily in the tissues of the immune system. CB1 and CB2 Receptors: The body naturally produces endocannabinoids Anandamide and 2-AG. These cannabinoids are responsible for stimulating messages received through CB1 and CB2 receptors and transmitting them throughout the body. Anandamide and 2-AG support the body’s internal systems to deal with disease, pain, pain management, addiction, stress management, inflammation, gastrointestinal response, immune response, memory, appetite, response to rewards, and a plethora of other internal system malfunctions and disharmony. Exogenous cannabinoids such as phytocannabinoids, which are extracted from cannabis (CBD, THC, CBN), mimic our naturally occurring endocannabinoids (Anandamide and 2-AG). Anandamide and 2-AG’s have an extremely short lifespan. This is why an exogenous cannabinoid supplement is crucial. By consuming phytocannabinoids such as CBD, we replenish our ECS with exogenous cannabinoids when endocannabinoids become deficient. Cannabinoid deficiency is common due to constantly changing internal and external conditions. These conditions range from external toxins, stress, traumatic experiences, pain, injuries, thoughts, relationships, and conditions we may have been born with or that have been acquired later in life (diabetes, mental illness, seizures, joint and muscle pain, arthritis, etc.) To keep the body in alignment, these variables depend on a reaction from the body’s ECS. Supplementing endocannabinoids with exogenous cannabinoids allows the ECS to counteract, particularly in the case of endocannabinoid deficiency. Summary: The endocannabinoid system is like a command center for the maintenance of one of the human body’s most important systems in maintaining proper homeostasis. For instance, if you repeatedly lift a weight incorrectly in the gym, the poorly executed movement sends a shooting pain to the muscle group you are working on. Your homeostasis—your balance—has been disturbed externally and this results in internal calamity. The actions and reactions, internal and external, are all directed by signals sent from the body to the brain via the central nervous system assisted by the ECS. The process also occurs in reverse. Our body is full of receptors in constant dialogue. The ECS regulates the systems that deliver and keep those signals being sent and received appropriately and in a timely manner, and also ensures that the body’s internal systems continue to flow regularly and efficiently. Supplementing with CBD Oil helps to ensure that this process works effortlessly.
